Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead and oversee landscape and hardscape construction projects from pre-construction through - completion. This role is responsible for managing production, scheduling, labor efficiency, and job profitability, while ensuring high-quality execution across multiple active projects.

This is a field-driven leadership role for someone who understands how to manage crews, control job costs, and deliver projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in construction operations and thrives in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project & Production Management

- Oversee multiple active projects (landscape and hardscape construction)

- Manage daily production schedules and crew assignments

Ensure projects are delivered:

- On time

- Within budgeted labor hours

- To company quality standards

- Monitor job progress and proactively adjust resources to stay on track

Labor & Cost Control

Own job costing and labor performance

Track:

- Budgeted vs. actual hours

- Productivity rates by crew

- Project profitability

- Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve performance

- Work closely with estimating/sales to validate production assumptions

Team Leadership & Field Oversight

Lead and support:

- Crew leaders / foremen

- Field supervisors

- Conduct regular job site visits to ensure:

- Quality standards are met

- Crews are operating efficiently

- Safety protocols are followed

- Train and develop team members on best practices and expectations

Scheduling & Planning

- Develop and manage short- and long-term project schedules

- Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment across projects

- Adjust schedules based on:

  • Weather conditions
  • Project changes
  • Labor availability

- Ensure proper sequencing of work to maximize efficiency

      - Client & Internal Coordination

      Serve as a key point of contact between:

      • Clients
      • Sales/Estimating
      • Field teams

      - Participate in project handoffs and scope reviews

      - Address field issues and client concerns quickly and professionally

      Quality & Safety

      - Enforce company standards for:

      - Installation quality

      - Site cleanliness

      - Safety compliance

      - Conduct safety meetings and ensure adherence to OSHA guidelines

      - Maintain accountability across crews for safe work practices

      Project Types

      - Hardscape construction (patios, retaining walls, pavers, stonework)

      - Landscape installation (planting, grading, drainage)

      - Outdoor living (fire features, seating walls, shading structures)

      - Irrigation and site improvements

      - Mix of residential and commercial projects

      Qualifications

      - 5+ years of experience in:

      - Landscape construction

      - Hardscape construction Or related construction field

      Proven experience managing:

      - Multiple crews and projects simultaneously

      - Job costing and labor performance

      - Strong understanding of:

      - Construction sequencing

      - Production rates

      - Equipment and materials

      Skills & Competencies

      - Strong leadership and team management skills

      - Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities

      - Results-driven with a focus on efficiency and accountability

      - Problem-solver with a proactive mindset

      Comfortable using:

      - Project management software

      - Spreadsheets and reporting tools

      - Strong communication skills (field + client-facing)
